Built by Birmingham Railway carriage and Wagon Company between 1960 and 1962, the Class 33 locomotives are often refered to as Cromptons. Originally refered to as Type 3's, these locomotives were originally numbered in the D6500 series and were later re-numbered into 33001 in January 1974. Sixty five locomotives were built in the 33/0 Class with a further nineteen Class 33/1 and twelve 33/2.

We are now sold out completely of the Tower Models Limited Edition Class 33. Two standard versions are the later green with a yellow warning panel and post TOPS's blue with a yellow front, both of which are still available but stocks are running very low on the Blue version now. All versions are un-numbered allowing the customer to easily complete the locomotive with a number of his own choice. As always we will also offer our usual service of numbering the locomotives in our own workshop for an additional £25.00 or an additional £50.00 to number and weather.
