The new Heljan Class 26 is now available and we have stocks of all three types thought the limited edition is now down to fairly low numbers.

Built by Birmingham Railway Carriage Works between 1958 and 1959. Forty seven locomotives were built built and numbered in the D5300 series. Confusingly, the Class 26's were originally refered to as Type 2's (along with Class 24's, 25's and 27's) They were reclassified as Class 26's in 1968 and re-numbered in the 26001 series in 1973.

There will actually be two versions of the Class 26 and 3 different liveries.

The Tower Models limited edition (only 100 pieces) depicts the Class 26/0 as built in green livery without the yellow panel and with representation of the gangway doors printed onto the mouldings and token recess, headcode discs and retains its steam boiler water tank on the underframe.

Two standard versions are available, these being the later Class 26/1 green with a yellow warning panel and post TOPS's blue with a yellow front. This means it will have 'sealed' gangway doors, token recess, headcode discs and retains its steam boiler water tank on the underframe.

All version will be un-numbered allowing the customer to easily complete the locomotive with a number of his own choice. As always will will also offer our usual service of numbering the locomotives in our own workshop for an additional £25.00 or an additonal £50.00 to number and weather.
