K316 BR Class 55 Diesel ‘DELTIC’
The English Electric type 5 Deltic locomotives were introduced in 1961 with the intention of replacing steam on the East Coast main line. Rated at 3,300 b.h.p. almost all of their working life was spent on express passenger services running between London Kings Cross, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Leeds and Hull.
Kit features: High quality 'tin' alloy body, fuel and watertanks, bogie sideframes and brakes. Etched brass/nickel silver roof panels (preformed), grill covers for fans and engine, window beadings, bogie chassis x 2 including axle bushes. Includes lost wax brass buffer heads (sprung), airbags/hoses, horns, windscreen wipers and fine detailing parts. Also flushglaze windows, cab detail and full exploded diagrams and assembly instructions.The kit does not include: Motor, gears, pick-ups (Available separately from DJH ) or wheels. Optional working lighting kit also available from DJH as separate item.
