45 Ton TTA tankers

The TTA wagon was developed in the 1960's and continued in production through into the 1970's. The wagons were built by a variety of companies, this, as well as the many variations and changes to the body and the chassis through the lifespan of the wagons created many variations and were removed from service in the early 2000's. The wagons were originally built to haul petrochemical products across the country. Many wagons were repurposed later in life to carry a variety of other products including Caustic Soda and Calcium Carbonate slurry. Dapol will initially be modelling the 45T version with two body types which will allow Type A and Type B tankers to be produced. Other versions of this wagon will follow in later production runs.

At the same time Tower Models have also commissioned Dapol to produce three additional numbers of each of what we think will be the most popular liveries for a total of twelve additional tankers in total which will be released at the same time as the standard production run. There may some minor changes to these between later and earlier drawings but we are pretty much happy with the options.

We have now received the test samples for 3 out of the four Tower Models sets and hopefully Dapol will be releasing the images of the standard TTA's soon and all examples should be on display at Stafford show next weekend. We are now taking advance orders for all announced items for despatch as soon as they become available. You will not be charged until despatch has been made on advance orders. .They should be available here in the UK January 2024

I have now updated the above images with custom weathered examples of the Tower Models Limited Edition sets of 3. The additional cost of the weathering is £25.00 per wagon without the oil streaking or £30.00 with the oil streaking.

These Dapol models feature:

Highly detailed and accurate body shell and chassis with many separately added details, including etched hand rails, ladders and walkways
Metal Instanter coupling chain and sprung coupling hook.
Sprung metal buffers.
Compensated chassis, along with a weight in the tank barrel and finely profiled metal wheels lead to extremely smooth running
Variations and modifications are tooled
Type A & Type B vehicles to be modelled

You have to like the Shell BP livery as no two are the same. The above one is especially different with the blanked out logos
